Intermediate Canoe - BCU 3 Star Assessment Are you a flat water paddler who wants to move on to moving water and up your skill level? If so, this award is for you. The 3 Star is a prerequiste for UKCC Level 2 Coach. At 3 Star level you are considered to be an intermediate canoeist and a competent member of a group on grade 1 water.

This is a one day assessment looking at the skills required to paddle on open water & grade 1 rivers. These include trim, sailing, breaking in, breaking out, ferry gliding, poling, river running and rescues. At the end of the day you will leave with a better understanding of and the confidence in paddling on different waters within a group.

 

Equipment available to hire if required.

Cost:

• £65 per person.
• BCU fee payable of £10 for members, £20 for non members
• Equipment hire £10
