Intermediate Canoe - BCU 3 Star Skills Training

Are you a flat water paddler who wants to move on to white water and up your skill level? If so, this course is for you. We will take your existing paddling skills and transfer them to moving water. The 3 Star is a prerequiste for UKCC Level 2 Coach.

At 3 Star level you are considered to be an intermediate canoeist and a competent member of a group. In a relaxed informative atmosphere learn the skills of dealing with river flow, open water in wind conditions, and rescues. At the end of the weekend you will leave with a better understanding of and the confidence in paddling on open and simple moving water within a group.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to develop your flat water skills and transfer them to moving water. The course will be undertaken on moving water up to grade 1. During the weekend we will follow the sylabus of the BCU 3* Open Canoe Award.
