Geocaching

Geocaching is an high tech treasure hunt using hand held GPS units (Global Positioning System). A fun activity for all the family. You use the GPS to find caches which can be hidden anywhere on the planet!

At River Mountain we can help you get started with a day on the basics of the sport up to helping you find those remote caches that you have dreamed of visiting. If you have some experience but think you lack the skills to get to the more remote caches, let us guide you out in the countryside.

Introduction to Goecaching Day

This is a day to get you started in the fun that is Geocaching. We will show you how to get registered as a geocacher, what a GPS unit is, how to use one, introduction to maps and basic navigation skills. Then we will go out for the afternoon to use the GPS and find some caches! Included in the costs is a trackable item which you will release during the afternoons cache hunting.

Cost:

  • Individual: £100
  • Group of 2 - 4: £160. Additional group members are £25 per person.
  • Family ticket (2 adults & 2 children under 14): £140. Additional children £10.

Remote Cache Collecting

Always wanted to add some remote caches to your logbook but not sure if you have the knowledge or skills to be out on the hills? If so, let us guide you for the day and introduce you to the skills of mountain navigation and moving around the hills. You chose the caches you want to find or we can organise the whole day.

Cost:

  • 1 person: £80.
  • 2- 4 persons: £150. Additional group members are £20 per person.
