The Hill and Moorland Leader award is designed for people who want to lead groups in the hill and moorland areas of the UK and Ireland. Areas include the Peak District, North Yorkshire Moors and Dales, Dartmoor and similar countryside. This award is a wonderful opportunity to learn the leadership skills required to feel confident about taking people out walking. As you may have guessed from the descriptive title of this award, it focuses on non-mountainous terrain.

Explore the Yorkshire Dales with an experienced mountain leader. Be guided around some of the most beautiful areas of the Yorkshire Dales. Learn the history of the area and the skills to move safely in the hills.
We are now delivering the Sports Leaders UK Level 3 Lowland Expedition Leadership Award (LEL) and Lowland Walk Leadership (LWL) Award. These replace the Basic Expedition Leader Award (BELA) and Day Walk Leader from the 1st September 17.
