Just starting out in the outdoors and want to know what to do with the map or got a bit of experience and would like to improve your knowledge with a personal performance award? We have a course that will give you the skills and knowledge wish to gain. Either a one day introduction or a two day nationally set award.

 

Introduction to navigation

This day’s introduction to navigation will show you the basics of how to interpret a map, relate it to the ground and simple use of a compass.

Cost:

  • Individual: £60

National Navigation Awards

These are nationally recognised personal performance awards and run against a set syllabus. We can offer you both the Bronze and Silver Awards and these are run over two days. Both awards look at the skills to navigate in open country including safety, environment and access.

The Bronze award enables you to be able to plan and follow routes in the countryside using paths and tracks.

The Silver award enables you to be able to plan and follow routes in the countryside away from paths and tracks.

Both the Bronze and Silver awards are a combined training and assessment course with a certificate and badge on succesful completion.

New Course: Bronze course 17th - 18th August, North Yorkshire Moors.

A two day course which introduces you to the skills and tricks of navigation. This course will be based around the northern end of the moors near Stokesley.
