Basic Expedition Leader Award

We are pleased to be able to deliver the Sports Leaders UK Level 3 Basic Expedition Leader Award and Day Walk Leader Award.

The Basic Expedition Leader Award (BELA) is the foundation award for leading and teaching groups in the countryside which involves overnight camping. The Day Walk Leader (DWL) is to the same level as the BELA but with out the overnight requirements. Both these awards require a training course over a minimum of 127 hours for the BELA and 70 for the Day Walk. Included in this is an assessment of 22 hours for the BEL and 8 hours for the DWL. We are able to facilite both training and assessment.

These awards meet the requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh Award for tutors, supervisors and assessors.
