Discover Paddlesport – Paddle UK Personal Paddle Award

With a variety of craft available, from kayaks too canoes, paddle boards and inflatables; Paddlesport takes many forms. With choices from white water to river and sea touring, an altogether great way to get on the water, have fun and discover the countryside around you.

This course also includes Paddle UK’s Paddle Safer Award.

What’s Involved?

We aim to develop your practical skills and decision making for a fun and safe time on the water. The Discover Award takes you on the steps towards becoming a proficient and independent paddler. You start to learn how to choose equipment and how to use it effectively, develop an understanding of the factors which affect your paddling and gain the confidence to progress to making your own choices; maybe with the Explore Award and beyond!

Because we are always looking to increase your knowledge and confidence; we include PaddleUK’s Paddle Safer Award as part of the Discover Paddlesport course. Learning simple, effective ways to improve your safety and of others with you; it is also a fun, wet session!

We recommend that for children to get the most out of this award, they are 12yrs or older. All under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

All equipment is provided. We do have drysuits and wetsuits available; if you wish to use one on the course, there is an extra fee, please contact us. The course can be taken in either kayak, canoe, Stand Up Paddleboard or inflatable kayak. You can go tandem in canoe or inflatable kayak.
