Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course. This is an Ofqual accredited, Level 3, course delivered through the awarding organisation ITC First. River mountain Experience are an approved provider for ITC First and meet all the due diligence checks require for a first Aid provider. This EFAW qualification meets the HSE requirements for first aid in the work place in a low risk work environment; designed for low risk locations like office, retail and similar places of work, where there is a reduced risk of injury.
Free Parking at the venue with tea, coffee, biscuits available all day and included in the price. All successful attendees gain an Ofqual Level 3 recognised certificate which is valid for 3 years
The Emergency First Aid at Work course covers the following:
Vital Signs – breathing, level of consciousness, temperature, colour
Incident Management – Primary Survey – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents
Airway Management – causes and treatment of unconscious collapse. Managing a seizure.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Breathing Problems – choking
Circulation Problems – controlling external bleeding and treatment for shock
Minor Injuries – small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters
Safe best practice – minimise the risk of infection
Awareness of current regulations
The HSE strongly recommend candidates take an annual 3 hour refresher during the lifetime of the qualification.
The qualification is revalidated by attending another EFAW course after 3 years.
