Evening Adventure Walk

February 28 @ 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
£1.00 – £25.00
Walkers in Dark Evening

See the stars from the moors at night, come with us on an Evening Adventure Walk. This is all part of the North York Moors National Park “Dark Skies Festival“. Starting from the car park at Clay Bank, near Stokesley, we will use the forest tracks through the woods to reach to the edge of the moors. On to the Wainstones and then return on the famous Cleveland Way over Hasty Bank. From Hasty Bank you will be able to see over industrial Teeside on one side, and the dark, moody, moors on the other.

Your evening adventure walk starts late afternoon, just as the sun is going down, and finishes early evening. It is a moderate walk; approximately 6km in length with a height gain of 350m, taking about 3.5hrs. Because the top of Hasty Bank and the Wainstones is an open area, please come dressed in warm, comfortable clothing. Bring waterproofs (jackets and trousers), along with hats and gloves. The ground can be muddy, so walking boots or wellies are the preferred footwear. Don’t forget a drink and some snacks. We will provided head torches if you need them.

Suitable for children 8yrs and over. We are dog friendly, so please bring the pooch! All dogs must be on a lead and used to walking the distance.

The car park at Hasty Bank is now a Pay & Display that only takes cards.

There are two dates available:

Tuesday 17th Feb. 26,

Thursday 19th Feb. 26 and,

Saturday 28th Feb. 26.

Please book on the same event page as the date you would like.

The trip will be lead by David, who is a qualified Summer and Winter Mountain Leader, and holds the International Mountain Leader Carnet. He is also a provider for the National Navigation Award Scheme.
