Shortest Day Sunset Walk
December 21 @ 12:00 pm - 6:30 pmFree – £30
Watch the shortest day finish and look forward to more daylight!
Join us for a guided walk up Great Shunner Fell in Wensleydale and watch the sunset on the shortest day from the summit. We will use the Pennine Way to go up and down on, starting and finishing from the village of Hardraw. On return you can visit the Green Dragon Inn for a warm up drink and a bit of festive cheer (optional and restrictions allowing!).
This walk will take you to the top of one of the highest points in the Yorkshire Dales; the weather could be changeable and it will be chilly, especially when the sun goes down. You will need to be equipped for the conditions and we will supply head torches for your use. The Yorkshire Dales have some of the best walking in the world and we will be moving through a mixture of scenery on our way to the top. The views are extensive along Wensleydale, coming down we will have the lights of the Vally shining to give us a different perspective of the area.
The walk is approximately 15km and with a height gain of 500m, classed as moderate. It will not be suitable for children under the age of 10. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
