Summer Solstice Walk

Join us for an evening Summer Solstice Walk on Whernside, the highest peak in Yorkshire.
The summer solstice takes place at 9.21pm on the 21st June 25. Our aim is to do a circular walk around Whernside, starting and finishing at Ribblehead. Getting to the summit in time to watch the sun go down on the solstice.
At 736m, Whernside is the highest summit in Yorkshire and one of the famous Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Views from the top are far ranging, from the other 3 Peak summits to Morecambe Bay and the Lake District.

This Summer Solstice walk is graded as “Moderate” on our guided walks grading scale. You will need to be dressed for being on an exposed hill side, with spare top/jacket, waterproofs and good footwear. Food and drink should also be taken for a walk of approximately 5 hours.
We will be walking in low light, if not darkness, at the end of the walk and finishing late. Head torches will be provided for the group.
The walk will be lead by David, who is a qualified Summer and Winter Mountain Leader and also holds the International Mountain Leader Carnet.
This event is dog friendly and your four legged friends are most welcome.
